ScanFE -- export to COMSOL format

Submitted by fiizyk on

Dear all,

My goal is the simulation of the fluid and gas flow in porus media. As the first step few CT scans using X-ray tomography where prepared. Next I have prepared the 3d geometry using ScanIP and ScanFE application. The purpose was to export direct geometry to COMSOL .mphbin format posted in node/2300 using the new feauture of Scan FE.  Unfurtunatelly I have receved an error that the object imported has no geometry. I would like to point also thank I havestrictly followed instructions in the ScanFE dialog window and I have tried all possibilites of exporting.

Control the node force on the boundary

Submitted by jingzheng on

It is a 3D cubic cell model out of a whole material,  and it is necessary to make sure that this cell can represent the whole material so the node forece of the corresponding nodes on the opposite surface should have the same value and opposite direction, but I have no idea about how to control the nodes force (maybe *EQUATION ?), because untill now all the boundary control method is about controlling the displacement. Does anybody know how? Thank you guys so much!

How can I get the modes in a dynamic (modal) analysis?

Submitted by Studywork on

Hi,

with the Ansys Help I can see the graphic modes. But I need them as a vector (or the modal matrix) to get with the eigenfrequencies the mass matrix and the stiffnessmatrix of a dynamic system.

How can I import those modes for example into Matlab or into an excel program.

Quasi Linear Viscoelasticity vs. Linear Viscoelasticity

Submitted by Gungho on

Can anyone explain what is main difference between Linear Viscoelasticity vs qlv (Quasi linear Viscoelasticity) proposed by Fung.  As far as I understand stress relaxation function and elastic response functions separated and given in convolution form which provides "strain rate independent" results in qlv application.

Is linear viscoelastic description is strain dependent?

Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems in Formula 1

Submitted by frosty22 on

I love seeing the applications of our engineering accomplishments. The new KERS systems in the Formula 1 racing cars will hopefully bring interest to the common masses in regards to engineering, mechanics, electrical energy and hybrid technology development. Having this technology in the high visibility realm is sure to create positive ripples in our direction. They are adding a 80hp electrical motor between the fuel system and engine to add small bursts of power. This is powered generated from braking and stored in a ion-lithium battery pack.

Hashin damage model for fiber reinforced composite in ABAQUS

Submitted by Gyanender Singh on

Hi Everyone,

I am doing a project in which I am trying to study about the
drilling of composite. The aim is to optimize the drill and process
parameters to minimize the damage. For this I have tried to simulate
the drilling process in ABAQUS and I am using the Hashin damage model.
The problem is that Hashin damage model works only for the lamina which
takes only plane stress elements. Since only plane elements are allowed
I am unable to simulate cutting action of drill as the composite plate
is effectively 2D.

TRANSIENT TEMPERATURE ANALYSIS IN ABAQUS...

Submitted by janakid on

Hello freinds

I am facing problems with ABAQUS in doing the transient temperature analysis, and creep analaysis,,

can any one sujjest me about the porcedure step by step in ABAQUS for solving the heat trasfer problems and creep anlyisis rpoblems..

it willl be help ful for me ..please............

and one more question how can i fine online tutorials for ABAQUS 6.1.6

please guide me by sujjestting the solutons for aboove problems..

i am struck with these problems cant able to continue my research...please consider me..
