Abstract:

uniUnit - unify system of units

Submitted by wlongqi on

In FEM and other similar simulation techniques, keeping consistent units is a tedious work and almost everyone made this kind of mistake one or two times. Therefore, here I propose a package for dealing with this problem once and for all.

The idea of the package is simple, you tell me what is the system of units you want. Then, tell me the correct number in any system of units. All is done! The package will try to print out the value in you specified system of units.

Here is some examples:

2D corotational beam

Submitted by mjalilych1 on

hello Dear friends

I am phd student in mechanical engineering. I want to compare field consistent total lagrangian

and corotational formulation for geometrically nonlinear 2D beam analysis. I wrote

a code for total lagrangian approach and my results are exct but in corotational

I have some difficulties in coding. if someone has a sample corotational code please

contact with me.

We are pleased to announce the symposium "Design, Fabrication and Characterization of Architected Materials" at the upcoming 2015 Mach Conference (http://machconference.org).  A full description of the symposium is provided below. Abstracts are due December 5, though please let us know if you are interested in participating but need additional time to prepare the abstract.

VUMAT Error

Submitted by iitd.mani on

I have VUMAT code for visco-plasticty material.

When I use this code for abaqus 6.10 input file it works fine.

If i create same problem(one element check) in abaqus 6.13 and run in cluster with abaqus 6.11 it is not working.

Getting error like below.

***ERROR: Floating Point Exception detected in increment 2722.  Job exiting.

     2722  6.904E-03 6.904E-03  00:00:00 7.536E-04           0 NaN        NaN

ABAQUS - Jointed material model

Submitted by damuschett on

Hello all:

I have bee trying to run the benchmarks problems, but for some reason I'm unable to obtain the expected results. I'm trying the built the strength envelope that is presented in the manual. The envelope defines different maximum axial stress depending on the orientation of the discontinuities with respect of the loading direction.

confusion between UMAT and UEL

Submitted by akshay patil on

My Masters thesis work is on fatigue crack growth analysis on microalloy steel using cohesive zone model for mode-I crack growth.I had seen papers
on cohesive zone model which is attached here,in that damage based cohesive model is implemented. I would like to know how can we implement
damage mechanisms in ABAQUS,means whether it is necessary to write UMAT or UEL for the same?
can any one give me some suggestions?
Looking forward to your reply.
thank you very much.
