Symposium on Architected Materials at Mach 2015
We are pleased to announce the symposium "Design, Fabrication and Characterization of Architected Materials" at the upcoming 2015 Mach Conference (http://machconference.org). A full description of the symposium is provided below. Abstracts are due December 5, though please let us know if you are interested in participating but need additional time to prepare the abstract.
Needed: Dielectric Elastomer transducers made to spec
My company urgently needs to identify an individual or organization who can
fabricate a couple of hundred small Dielectric Elastomer transducers for an
R&D project. The work could be done under contract. We have
started making our own but it is becoming clear there is a learning curve plus
much trial and error and we are short on time.
If you think you might be able to make them or if you can suggest
Postdoctoral Associate Opportunity in Materials and Devices for Power & Energy Applications: US Naval Research Laboratory
The Multifunctional Materials Branch of the Materials Science & Technology Division at the US Naval Research Laboratory in Washington DC has an interest in postdoctoral associate candidates for the areas of materials and devices for power and energy applications.
Webinar: How Can IntelliSuite v8.7 Benefit MEMS Research and Teaching
IntelliSuite was the first MEMS-specific CAD tool and has been under
development for over 20 years. In this free webinar, understand how this
industry-standard software can help MEMS designers, process engineers,
and professors save time and costs in the development cycle, share their
designs with others, and teach students about MEMS. The webinar will
cover: process development using virtual fabrication tools, etch recipe
development using process simulators, design rule checking and
cross-sectioning tools for MEMS layout, design exploration and
optimization using behavioral and parametric modeling, recent
developments in automated meshing algorithms, discussion of coupled
FEM-BEM solvers for MEMS multiphysics analysis, linking MEMS models to
Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Materials Science at Villanova University
The Department of Mechanical Engineering seeks an outstanding individual for a full-time tenure-track position in materials science with emphasis on the fabrication of micro and nanoscale materials and devices. Especially encouraged are applicants with interest in sustainable energy. The opening is at the Assistant Professor level but candidates with strong records will be considered for appointment at a higher level.
