Postdoctoral Fellow in Computational Mechanics

A postdoctoral fellowship is available in the Duke Computational Mechanics Laboratory, beginning in September of 2009 (with flexibility on timing).  Funding for the fellowship concerns research in the simulation of large-scale fragmentation phenomena.  The ideal candidate will have experience in some combination of the following areas:

  1. nonlinear finite element analysis
  2. dynamic fracture
  3. C++ or C
  4. MPI and high-performance computing
  5. statistics/uncertainty quantification

The fellow will have the opportunity to work with researchers at Sandia National Laboratories and a massively parallel production code.  Prospective candidates should send a copy of their CV to Professor John Dolbow at jdolbow AT duke DOT edu, and should feel free to contact me with any questions.
