The research project

We are looking for a post-doctoral research fellow to work on
a project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (MICINN).
The goal of the project is to optimise vibration isolation devices in railway
lines, with an emphasis on elastomeric materials based on recycled rubber.

Qualifications

We seek candidates with a strong background in computational
mechanics and numerical methods. Desirable expertise includes structural
dynamics, visco-elasticity and homogenisation methods.

The research position

Two years of post-doc position starting on January 2012 are
funded by the project. The Laboratori de Càlcul Numèric (www-lacan.upc.edu) is a very active
research group located in the vibrant city of Barcelona.
