The Johns Hopkins University, Department of Mechanical Engineering, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the general area of mechanics and materials. Modeling and simulations are of particular interest, but all outstanding candidates will be considered. Opportunities for interactions across the University include the Institute for NanoBio Technology, the NSF MRSEC on Nanostructured Materials, the Whitaker Biomedical Engineering Institute, the Institute of Computational Medicine, the Center for Advanced Metallic and Ceramic Systems, and the NSF Engineering Research Center for Computer-Integrated Surgical Systems and Technology.
Preference will be given to applicants at the assistant professor level, but exceptionally qualified candidates at all ranks will be considered. The successful candidate must have a doctorate, and is expected to establish a strong, independent, internationally recognized research program as well as contribute fully to both undergraduate and graduate instruction.
