Special Issue in CMAME on 'Phase Field Approaches to Fracture' - Extended Submission Deadline

Dear Colleagues,

We invite contributions to a Special Issue in Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering (CMAME) on Phase Field Approaches to Fracture. Contributions providing a state of the art of current phase field algorithms to model fracture and contributions addressing open challenges intrinsically related to this method are welcome. Exemplarily, the development of thermodynamically consistent and efficient operator-splitting techniques for phase field frameworks of coupled materials or the extension to ductile materials at large deformations as well as the need to achieve quantifiable crack branching results under dynamic loading, all of which generally are simulated on massively parallel computer architectures, are mentioned. Manuscript Submission:

Manuscripts should be formatted and be submitted online according to the instructions for CMAME. The authors must select SI: Phase Field Fracture when specifying the "Article Type" in the submission system. All submissions will undergo the peer review process. The papers that do not complete the review process in time will revert to ordinary submissions to the Journal, and if they are accepted will be published in subsequent issues. All papers will be published online as soon as they are accepted and prior to publication of the hardcopy version of the Special Issue.
