PhD Position at McGill University in Multifunctional Materials

One PhD position is available for Fall 2016 in the Bioresource Engineering Department of McGill University. The research is on Multifunctional Materials. Theoretical, computational, and experimental studies will be conducted for a multiscale multiphysics analysis. The candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Hamid Akbarzadeh at McGill University.

 

Required qualifications for the position are:

1. Strong background on Computational mechanics, Nonlinear and instability analysis, Multiscale analysis, Cellular Solids, and Smart materials.

2. Experience with Homogenization techniques, Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulation, and Experimental testing are asset.

3. Proficiency in using commercial finite element packages such as ABAQUS/ANSYS and COMSOL.

4. Excellent programing skills using MATLAB and Python/C.

5. Good publication records.

6. Proficiency in English and high undergraduate and graduate GPA for admission to McGill University
