Postdoctoral Research Associate position in computational fluid-structure interaction

Submitted by Qxue on

We invite applications for the postdoctoral position in Mechanical Engineering Department, University of Maine. The research area is in the computational modeling of fluid-structure-acoustics interactions, especially the modeling of nonlinear thin wall structure with large strains.

Preferred qualifications are:

1) Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or related fields.

2) Strong Background in developing finite element solver for nonlinear materials, especially with thin-wall structures (shell element). Previous experience in open-source package Tahoe is considered as a plus.

3) Excellent programming skills with C++, Fortran and MPI and experience in large-scale code development.

4) Highly motivated and dedicated to research.

We will also consider the candidates with strong background in computational aero-acoustics (CAA) as another option.

Applications, including full curriculum vita, contact information of three professional references, abstract of doctoral dissertation and two most relevant papers/manuscripts that you have (co)authored recently, should be sent to qian.xue [at] maine.edu

The position is available immediately. The job duration is one year initially and may be extended for more years.
