NSF Travel Grants for Junior Faculty and Post-Doctoral Fellows to attend the EMI 2018 Conference at M.I.T.
In an effort to increase the participation of women and underrepresented groups in the EMI 2018 conference, the National Science Foundation will provide a number of travel assistantships to postdoctoral researchers and junior faculty members from those groups.
Eligibility
Applicants must be junior faculty members within the first three years of their tenure track appointment or post-doctoral researchers. The awardees will be selected from the pool of eligible applicants in such a way that the diversity of the participants is ensured. Preference will be given to first time EMI conference attendees.
Requirement
All awardees will be required to attend the NSF-supported panel session on “Fostering Engineering Mechanics Research Community Diversity and Inclusion” and provide a one-page written feedback on their take from the panel discussions along with their suggestions for fostering diversity and inclusion within the engineering mechanics community.
