I noticed that the Rodney Hill Prize in Solid Mechanics has been founded and would like to have his personal records in detail, hopefully with his portrait(photo).
Thanks to the kind considerations of Professor M.J. Sewell, University of Reading, I was able to obtain a detailed personal history of R.Hill until his 60 years old day. The valuable contribution is:
Rodney Hill: Biographical note by Geoffrey Hopkins and Michel Sewell, in MECHANICS OF SOLIDS, The Rodney Hill 60th Anniversary Volume, Pineridge Press, 1982.
As a self-introduction, please visit: Journal of Material Processing Technology, Articles in vol.140(1903), 1-5, Y.Yamada, Mechanics of Materials, I saw and participated: a reminiscence.
