Postdoctoral opening at Merck on Biomedical Device Development - Computational Mechanics

A great opportunity for a final year Ph.D. student or postdoctoral scientist interested in the development of innovative biomedical technologies:

My team at Merck Research Laboratories (MRL) is seeking a postdoctoral fellow who is passionate about conducting research in the areas of biomedical engineering and medical device development. The outstanding candidate assists investigators to develop next-generation biomedical devices and combination products for a wide range of therapeutics and delivery technologies including parenteral drug delivery systems and implantable dosage forms. We are especially interested in candidates with a strong background in the design and analysis of materials and systems using numerical methods i.e., Computational Solid Mechanics. Other responsibilities include ex vivo characterization of device performance, computer-aided design (CAD)/ prototyping (eg., 3D printing) of novel medical devices using various types of polymers and biological materials, formulations, and chemical and analytical assays utilizing both routine and specialized techniques. Experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software e.g., XFlow, Fluent is a plus.

Interested candidates should please apply via the link below (more detailed information is sprovided). There is flexibility on the start date, although the late Spring 2022 start is preferred.
