Looking PhD openings in Solid mechanics

Hi,
 
I am Mukundan Srinivasan. I m a masters graduate with a major in FEA, fracture and fatigue mechanics. I did my masters in automotive engineering in Birmingham, UK and i did my bachelors in mechanical engineering in India. I  worked as a Project researcher in IST Lisbon, Portugal from September 09 to November 09 under a project of dynamic analysis of viscoelastic materials which mainly deals with the benefits of negative stiffness inclusions in a composite material to reduce the vibration by increasing the damping with the use of soft material. This work is a type of a research placement . I m very much interested  to carry on my research towards fatigue, fracture mechanics, adhesive bonded joints, composite Structural analysis and FEA in which i have more interest and knowledge. I m conversant of using softwares like Catia V5, Ansys and LS-Dyna and also Matlab. 
                                              My master’s thesis is “use of alternative materials for vehicle body structures using LSDYNA”. I have got first class in my thesis. Basically I have performed an impact simulation on thin walled square section for Steel, Aluminium and ADI for different velocities and strain rates. I have compared the material behavior and proved ADI could be a very effective alternative for steel. I used LSDYNA for the impact simulation. Apart from my masters thesis i worked on another two projects, one of which dealt with the bending and deflection analysis & testing of I section which is widely used in civil engineering purposes since these I sections have higher second moment of area to resist the beams from bending and deflection. Another project was related to Bonded adhesive joints of aluminium chassis structures. In both the projects i did the experimental testings and used LS-Dyna for comparison.
