Hi dear members
I am a student doing my Masters in Automotive Engineering at RWTH Aachen and am interested in Structural mechanics. I have done a basic course on mechanics of composite materials and am decently conversant with mechanics of composite laminae. However I am asked to do this mini project where in I am asked to search for a Material model on LS Dyna which is suitable for simulating the crash loading on a 3D braided carbon FRP.
can someone suggest me very nice mechanics of material book for reading and also engineering mechanics book.And also can some one tell me whats the difference between mechanics of material and mechanics of solid

As i know, stresses existing in the components suffering no any outer forces are called the residual stresses. To reply the reason why the residual stress appears in the component?
Could anyone answer this question for my understanding.

I am working on a coupled fluid structure problem , precisley on the elasto-acoustic mode, of a system consist on a cube which define the fluid domain coupled with an elastic plate.
The boundry conditions is:
- all the face of the cube is regid only the face coupled with the plate
- the plate is simply supported at the interface

I'm working on the strength of FRP wrapped concrete beams. I'm using Ansys to analyse this. Can somebody explain me how to handle the nonlinearity of concrete and how to analyse the adhesive between the FRP sheet and concrete beam in ansys?
