Role of Interface on the Toughening of Thermoplastic-Based Nanocomposites Reinforced with Nanofibrillated Rubber

Optimizing toughening efficiency of nanofibrillated rubber embedded in thermoplastic polymers has always been a challenge. In our work published in Nanoscale journal, by a combined MD-QM method, we demonstrate the roles of interface & interfiber interactions on the toughness and failure mechanisms of rubber-toughened polypropylene nanocomposites.

Postdoc position (2 year) on Computational Modelling of Artificial Cilia

Currently, a 2-year post-doc position is available in the Onck group. 

We are looking for an ambitious candidate with affinity for computational modelling that has completed (or is in the process of completing) a PhD degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics or Applied Mathematics. Candidates that have hands-on experience with Finite Element and/or Molecular Dynamics techniques are especially invited to apply.
