(ABAQUS CAE) piezoelectric analysis

Submitted by ri3trio on

Hello.

I'm doing piezoelectric analysis using abaqus CAE v6.12.

Specifically, what I'm doing now is to make the bimorph piezoelectric harvester model using Abaqus CAE

and to validate my model.

My FE model is made based on the model developed by A Erturk and D J Inman in their paper,

'An experimentally validated bimorph cantilever model for piezoelectric energy harvesting from base excitations'

They presented the analytical solution for voltage output and experimental validation is also presented in this paper.

Piezoelectricity above the Curie temperature? Combining flexoelectricity and functional grading to enable high-temperature elect

Submitted by rmbarki on

Most technologically relevant ferroelectrics typically lose piezoelectricity above the Curie temperature. This limits their use to relatively low temperatures. In this Letter, exploiting a combination of flexoelectricity and simple functional grading, we propose a strategy for high-temperature electromechanical coupling in a standard thin film configuration.

Phononic crystal with adaptive connectivity: A new approach to 'smart' materials

Submitted by AndreaBergamini on

In recent times, mechanical metamaterials and a phononic crystals have attracted the attention of some groups, as they allow to exploit on a larger scale phenomena known from solid state physics, such as the creation of band gaps at certain frequencies. The peculiarity of metamaterials is that their effective properties emerge from the periodic geometric organization of their unit cells rather than from the constituting bulk materials. Furthermore, metamaterials can be built in any size, ranging from the nanometer to the meter scale, and out of any material to suit different needs.

ERROR in ABAQUS

Hi colleague

does anybody know, what is this strange error :   Error in connection to analysis

i am trying to model fracture mechanics on piezoelecteric material, when i select the piezoelectric as a familiy in mesh part, then when runing the model, i recieve this error. if anybody knows how to fix it please help me.thanks
