Research
The AIMAN Lab pursues fundamental breakthroughs in biomedical cyber-physical systems. The lab’s primary research focuses on application of mathematical modeling, controls and estimation theory, and machine learning in health information technology including decision support and automated care systems, with the intention of improving the quality of healthcare, as well as brain-computer interfaces to bring neuro-enhancements to the daily consumer.

Controllability of Transportation Networks

Consider the set of monic fourth-order real polynomials transformed so that the constant term is one. The maximum of the real parts of the roots of these polynomials is globally minimized at the Swallowtail singular point of the discriminant surface of the set corresponding to a negative real root of multiplicity four.

We are currently looking for a top candidate to join the System Level Design group at CMU (www.ece.cmu.edu/~sld/), as a Postdoctoral Associate, starting Spring 2013. Main responsibilities involve work on modeling and control of stochastic micro-robotic swarms targeting biological applications.
