Multiple Ph.D. students are being sought to fill openings in the Predictive Computational Engineering (PCE) Lab in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. PCE Lab concerns with multidisciplinary research at the intersect of multiscale modeling of materials, physics-based machine learning, and scientific computing.
We are currently seeking to fill a position of a Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow to contribute to a research project sponsored by EC H2020 project ‘Ecologically and Economically viable Production and Recycling of Li-ion Batteries’ (ECO2LIB) in the area of Computational Modelling of Damage in Li-ion batteries. Suitable background for candidates would include proficiency in numerical methods for simulations of crack/damage propagation, and sound background in chemo-mechanics.

The Musculoskeletal Imaging and Orthopaedic Biomechanics (MIOB) Laboratory at the University of Vermont is seeking a graduate student in Mechanical Engineering to start in the Fall semester of 2020.
We are seeking strongly motivated candidates to fill multiple Research Fellow positions in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. The successful candidates will work on experimental and/or computational studies in the area of cell mechanics, tissue morphogenesis, and bio-hybrid soft robotics. We are particularly interested in candidates with research experience in bioengineering, soft materials, mechanobiology and applied mechanics.
I have an opening for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Duke University. The postdoctoral fellow will work with PhD students and experimental collaborators on a range of projects dealing with coupled field phenomena and fracture/damage mechanics. Projects here involve collaborations with Duke's medical school as well as researchers at other institutions and the national laboratories.
Postdoc positions are available at Jiangsu University, Zhenjiang, China. Those possessing PhDs in the area of computational mechanics, experimental mechanics and material science are sought. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in advanced numerical methods, surrogate modeling/surrogate-based optimization, machine learning methods, uncertainty quantification, data-driven design and optimization，etc.
Job responsibilities (2-year recruitment)
Several Ph.D. positions are open for Spring/Fall 2020 in the Advanced Hierarchical Materials by Design Lab at Louisiana Tech University on multiscale modeling of additively manufactured parts and processes. During this project, the candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with NASA research centers, national labs, and different universities across the nation.
