High Performance Computing MSc+Ph.D. position available at the
University of Glasgow on Massively Parallel Brain Surgery Simulation
with the extended finite element method (XFEM and FleXFEM)  (University

PhD and Post Doc Positions

One post doc position and two PhD student positions are available immediately at Composite Vehicle Research Center, Michigan State University.

Research background in atleast one of the following key areas preferred

1. Experimental Mechanics

2. Composite Materials - Design, characterization or damage mechanics

3. Biomimetic Design - Analytical or Computational experience with interest in experimental validation

Postdoc research associate and PhD student positions available

One postdoc and several PhD student positions are available at Clarkson University. Research background in at least one of the following areas is preferred.

1. Fatigue and fracture of materials and structures, computational mechanics and numerical methods

2. Probabilistic methods, engineering statistics, random process theory

Scientific Programmer

A one-year Postdoctoral Research Associate position is immediately available for research on nanomechanical characterization and modeling of nanomaterials and biomaterials.


Two NSF-funded graduate research assistantships in computational structural mechanics and optimization

[Position] Two positions are available for doctoral studies

There are two positions available for doctoral studies in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Michigan State University.  Two-year fundings are secured for those positions.  Research area is computational mechanics especially for meshless methods, wave propagation excited by piezo-material, interconnect reliability analysis under shock loading, and  structural response under extreme loadings.  Strong mathematical background with programming knowledge and experience with commercial FEA packages such as ADINA, ANSYS, LS-DYNA, etc. will be considered. 

Research Fellowship/Assistantship Opening at Utah State University

Post-Doctoral Fellowship: Looking for energetic researchers with strong background in constitutive modeling or multiscale material simulations. Open PhD positions: Computational Mechanics and Inverse Problems

Highly motivated PhD or MS/PhD candidates are sought for
research in computational mechanics and inverse problems in the Department of
Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh.


Postdoctoral Appointee – Computational Plasticity

A postdoctoral position at Sandia National Labs in Livermore, CA is available for an applied mechanics engineer with a strong background in computational constitutive model development. The work will support our current projects in the areas of continuum plasticity and failure modeling. The applicant will also be expected to implement models into Sandia computer codes for high-performance computing simulations. In addition, the candidate will collaborate with structural analysts to apply these advanced models to Sandia applications.

Postdoctoral Position in probabilistic multiscale/multiresolution formulations

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the areas of multiscale/multiresolution formulations and analysis in computational mechanics/physics. The project entails investigation of stochastic upscaling techniques and derivations of reduced-order models. Interested applicants should preferably have backround in uncertainty modeling and/or statistical learning. Proficiency in scientific computing and programming is necessary.
