Head of Research Unit (Experienced Researcher)
The Institute of Structural Analysis invites applications for a position as a Head of Research Unit (Experienced Researcher) (ref. no. 90) for leading the research unit „Composites“ and to be appointed at the earliest possible date.
The department composites is performing research on development and validation of new computational methods for fibre reinforced materials and structures ranging from nano to macro scale (structural component). The research unit consists of 17 scientists.
Post Doctoral position in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue
Purdue University is seeking applications from outstanding candidates for Postdoctoral Scholar positions to work on mesoscale simulations of physical and chemical processes at extreme conditions of pressure and temperature. The successful candidate(s) will join a multidisciplinary team including modelers and experimentalists working at multiple scales and collaborate at Purdue, Los Alamos National Laboratory and Stanford University.

PhD position - Development of mesoscale hydro-chemo-mechanical (HMC) modeling approach for concrete deterioration.
Objectives
The main aim of this project is to develop a robust computational framework for investigating the hydro-chemo-mechanical aspect of concrete carbonation at meso-scale.
Postdoctoral and PhD students Position on Acoustic Metamaterials at University of Missouri
Composite Materials & Dynamics Laboratory (http://cmdl.missouri.edu/) at University of Missouri develops innovative solutions for Solid Mechanics and Structured Materials, in particular the new frontiers of structural dynamics, wave propagation, micromechanics, topological and quantum mechanics, smart materials and dynamical behaviours of multi-functional materials, both man-made and formed naturally, and understanding relationship between microstructures and material macroscopic properties.
PhD position @QMUL-London: ERC project on FLOW-INDUCED DEFORMATION OF SUSPENDED 2D NANOMATERIALS
A fully-funded PhD position is available in the Fluids, Particles and Interfaces Group led by Lorenzo Botto at Queen Mary University of London, in the area of fluid-structure interaction in 2D nanomaterials. The goal is to study with simulation and theory how flexible 2D nanoparticles suspended in sheared liquids deform, delaminate and break. Further details are given below.
