Looking for a postdoc position

Submitted by a43803877 on
Dear Professor,

I am Fan Xie, a PhD in solid mechanics, Beihang University.

I am looking for a postdoctoral position in computational mechanics (MDs, FEM etc.) now. I have published 9 journal papers and 2 conference papers. I deeply understand the modeling of nano materials and nanocomposites (fiber reinforced, IPCs or bicontinuous composites) based on either Molecular Dynamics simulation (MDs) or FEM. And I am a hard working person as a Chinese student who is crazy about science.

PhD Positions in Computational Solid/Fracture Mechanics at Utah State University (USU)

Submitted by Ling Liu on

We have 1-2 PhD positions for modeling the fracture and failure in nuclear materials. The funding comes from a collaborative project involving five universities and one national lab.

The students will have opportunities to work with experimentalists and other computational experts at USU and from the national lab.

Requirements:

1. For applicants with no degree from a English-Speaking country:

TOEFL >= 79 or IELTS >= 6 (and a minimum score of 5 on each subscale)

2. GRE verbal and quantitative scores (no minimum requirement)

PhD position in computational solid / fracture mechanics

Submitted by rabedi on

Hello,

I have a PhD position available for a project titled "A stochastic and computational approach for fracture modeling of quasi-brittle materials" funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF). This project homogenizes material properties using the so-called stochastic volume elements (SVEs). Based on the enderlying statistical properties derived from these SVEs, realizations of certain material properties are generated. These realizations are subsequently used for stochastic characterization of fracture response in quasi-brittle materials.

University of California Merced - Post Doc and Grad Student Openings

Submitted by amartini on

We have openings for post docs and grad students to develop and use atomistic simulations to investigate surface and interface phenomena. Specific research focuses will depend on the applicant’s background, but may include characterization of the interactions and reactions between metallic surfaces and various industrially-relevant liquid adsorbates and exploration of the effects of coupled stresses in determining the size of the contact between nanoscale bodies.

Postdoctoral fellowships in computational mechanics

Submitted by daya.reddy on

Applications are invited for two postdoctoral fellowships, attached to the South African Research Chair in Computational Mechanics at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas: finite element methods for GPUs; preconditioned solvers in nonlinear mechanics; operator-splitting methods for coupled problems.
