Funded PhD Student Position in Biomechanical Tissue Simulation

We are seeking a motivated and talented PhD student with interest and skill in tissue deformation simulation and biomechanical modelling. The main focus will be on new approaches of tissue deformation computation for surgical planning. The activity will be carried out in the context of improving planning for forearm surgery, by analyzing and simulating anatomical structures relevant for distal stability during pro-supination.

Postdoc Position in Stochastic Simulation and Uncertainty Quantification for Solid/Structural Mechanics at Johns Hopkins University

The Shields Uncertainty Research Group (SURG) in the Dept. of Civil Engineering at Johns Hopkins University is seeking applications for the position of Postdoctoral Fellow. The postdoc will work on an Office of Naval Research (ONR) funded project developing novel stochastic simulation methodologies for quantification and propagation of uncertainty in computational solid/structural mechanics. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics or a related field.

A PhD position in the area of computational materials science is available on Jan. 1st, 2017 in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. Candidates should be strongly self-motivated individuals possessing a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, materials science and engineering or other closely related disciplines. A background in density functional theory, molecular dynamics and/or phase field modeling with strong c++ programming skills is desirable.
