Postdoc/PhD positions on multiscale modeling of debris flow and sediment transport at Tsinghua University, Shenzhen, China

Submitted by lujing on

Multiple postdoc and PhD positions are open at Tsinghua University to investigate debris flow and sediment transport in fluvial and coastal environments through a multiscale approach integrating experiments, simulations, and theory. The research will take place at Tsinghua University’s Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS), located in Shenzhen, China, and is partly sponsored by NSFC and Tsinghua SIGS’s scientific research startup funds.

Postdoc in fluid-induced instabilities of multistable structures

Submitted by info@signatur.dk on
Are you interested in elastic instabilities, slender structures, and fluid-structure interactions at low Reynolds numbers?

Do you want to develop the next generation of passive control valves in smart fluidic channels?

Then the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering invites you to apply for a 2-year postdoc position.

Expected start date and duration of employment

This is a 2–year position from 01.01.2023 or as soon as possible.

Job description

2 PhD Positions are available on modelling of additive manufacturing (L-PBF)

Submitted by yancheng.zhang on

2 funded PhD positions on modelling of additive manufacturing are available at CEMEF, MINES Paris, France.  One position focuses on the coupling work between grain growth and anisotropic mechanical behavior during process simulation, another one aims to predict the evolution of the distribution of precipitates according to the local thermal history of the material. Interested applicants should send their CV to Dr. Yancheng ZHANG: yancheng.zhang [at] minesparis.psl.eu.

Post-doctoral position

Submitted by smuftu on

A post-doctoral position in the general area of material science and mechanics related to wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) is available in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Northeastern University, Boston, MA. The aim of the work is to investigate the thermomechanical causes of residual stresses and to assess the general build quality by experimental and modeling approaches.  FLIR and other non-contact measurement techniques will be used for in-situ process monitoring. XRD will be used to assess residual stresses.
