Submitted by Stephan Rudykh on

Dear Colleagues,

The 52nd Annual Technical Meeting of the Society of Engineering Science will be hosted by Texas A&M University during October 26-28, 2015. As part of this meeting, we are organizing a mini-symposium to address recent experimental, computational, theoretical, and manufacturing advances on the mechanics and physics of soft materials. Topics of particular interest include:

Call for Abstracts TMS 2016: Biological Materials Science Symposium

Submitted by Francois Barthelat on

We are organizing a Symposium on Biological Materials Science at the 145th TMS Annual Meeting & Exhibition (TMS 2016)

February 14 – 18, 2016 in Nashville, Tennessee.

This symposium will encompass the following themes:

• Biological materials (soft and hard tissues, cells, etc.)

• Biomaterials (implants, tissue engineered structures, and devices)

• Modeling and experimental evaluation of mechanical properties of biological and biomaterials

• Biomimetic and bio-inspired materials

Call for Abstracts _TMS 2016: Additive Forming of Components - Tailoring Specific Material Properties in Low Volume Production

Submitted by mohsenzaeem on

Advancements in additive manufacturing technology have created the ability to design and construct parts with geometries and properties that cannot be achieved through traditional machining processes. This ability has promoted new design strategies whose success relies on close integration of engineering with materials science. Of particular interest is tailoring specific material properties in low-volume production.
