Harnessing snap-through instability in soft dielectrics to achieve giant voltage-triggered deformation

Submitted by Christoph Keplinger on

For a dielectric elastomer membrane we show giant voltage-triggered expansion of area by 1692%, far beyond the largest values reported in the literature.

SHPB Data Reduction Software

Hello,

I am
developing the first Split-Hopkinson Pressure bar device for my university and I
was wondering if anyone had some data reduction software/codes that they would
be willing to share.  I have heard that
others have developed such codes that take the input signals and perform the
proper analyses to produce the stress strain curves.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Corotational formulation for 3D solids

This paper presents the theory for the Lagrange co-rotational (CR) formulation of finite elements in the geometrically nonlinear analysis of 3D structures. In this paper, strains are assumed to be small while the magnitude of rotations from the reference configuration is not restricted. A new best fit rotator and consistent spin filter is derived.

ABAQUS VUHARD subroutine problem

Submitted by ramaanb on

Hello

I am working on the simulation of ring rolling. I have written the subroutine for the plasticity part in the subroutine VUHARD and have set the PLASTIC part in material definition to USER.

I dont have HARDENING PROPERTIES so i have set it BLANK. i have set the path of the subroutine in the job defintion part too. But abaqus crashes whenever i try to do DATA CHECK

It says ABAQUS KERNEL EXITED WITH AN ERROR.I dont know why this problem arises?. I am stuck.

Hi,

I am looking for a good citation (or perhaps a detailed explaination) on the difference between material co-ordinate and eulerian co-ordinate system. Please treat me a beginner in the field of continuum mechanics. Thanks for your help in advance.
