Conference Synopsis:

The journal Extreme Mechanics Letters has just published a special issue on "Frontiers of Mechanical Metamaterials" featuring 14 articles. The papers "provide an ensemble of some of the most recent research themes in the field, focusing on 'extreme’ behavior in acoustic and elastic waves, mechanical response, and thermoelasticity." The editorial for the special issue is attached.

 Join us at the Technical University of Denmark on March 15th, and in Gothenburg on March 16th, for free workshops introducing how to use Simpleware software for 3D image data visualisation, analysis and model generation.

These workshops will cover subjects such as how to process 3D images from modalities such as MRI and CT, how to integrate CAD and image data, how to generate high-quality Finite Element meshes, and how to use the software for applications such as the Life Sciences, Materials Science, Industrial Non-Destructive Testing and Reverse Engineering.

I wonder if some one helps me in applying shear on a surface of a cube. Do we have to apply it on two opposite surfaces. or I can fix one surface?
