cdmHUB.org: Online Composites Community of the Future

Submitted by Wenbin Yu on

I thought this might be of interest for some imechanicans, particularly those who work on composites (anisotropic and/or heterogeneous materials). Sorry if it sounds a bit infomercial.

Imagine a youtube-like environment for you to deploy a cloud version of your code without any change to your original code. Your research code can be immediately shared with the global community.

Applied Mechanics Division Banquet, Palais des congrès de Montréal, Quebec, Canada, November 18th, 2014.

Now I can say whatever I like in my Timoshenko Lecture and it won’t matter – because you will only remember Ken Liechti playing the bagpipes and, perhaps, the kilts.  Thank you Ken.

Extended deadline for abstract submission ESMC2015 "Micro and Nano Mechanics"

Submitted by Ettore Barbieri on

Fellow iMechanicians,

the deadline for submission for the next European Solid Mechanics Conference has been extended to the 30th November.

The conference will be the "place-to-be" next year in the Solid Mechanics community, with a truly outstanding line-up for the plenary lectures.

In particular, I am co-organizing with Nicola Pugno a mini-symposium on Micro and Nano Mechanics
