10-year impact report - MUSAM Research Unit

On November 2023 the research unit MUSAM -Multi-scale Analysis of Materials-  at the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca turns 10! 

To celebrate the contributions made to computational and experimental mechanics over the past 10 years, and to acknowledge the PhD students, researchers and visiting professors that have animated the research unit, I am pleased to share with you a 10-year impact report.

Dear Colleagues,

this year my courses on Computational Mechanics for the PhD in Systems Science at the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca will be delivered online and will be open to anyone interested in.

Enclosed please find a list of syllabi of the courses, along with the schedule of the lessons (Central European Time zone) and the Zoom link.

The courses are:

- Numerical Methods for the Solution of Partial Differential Equations (20 hours, December-January)

Machine learning and SIR epidemiological models applied to the analysis of the Italian Lockdown

How many people were involved in the covid-19 epidemic during the Italian Lockdown in Lombardy, Valle d'Aosta, Veneto and Emilia Romagna? 

How open data on infected and recovered individuals were biased by the limited extent in the use of medical swabs?

a PhD Student Position at the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca is now available within the EU MSCA-ITN-ETN Marie Curie Innovative Training Network project "NewFrac". The topic concerns computational fracture mechanics (phase field and cohesive zone mdoels), for photovoltaic (multi-physics) applications, see:
