European Commission' s JRC (Joint Research Centre) is organizing the 3rd workshop on physics based material models and experimental observations (http://iwpmeo.org/) in collaboration with University of Oxford, Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung and Middle East Technical University. The workshop will be held in Izmir/Turkey on 2-4 June 2014.
Recently, we want to do some research on the fracture behavior in the composite.
please recommend some books.
thanks
In this paper we attempt to answer two questions on graphene from a mechanic’s viewpoint: why does this one-atom-thick monolayer have finite bending stiffness to ensure its stability? and what is its wrinkle mechanism? As for the first question, it is found that the repulsive residual internal moment in the bond angle can lead to a nonzero bending stiffness, which makes the graphene flat. Together with long-range attraction among atoms, such as van der Waals forces, a graphene prefers to have a self-buckling wrinkled configuration with many waves.
Dear everyone!
The first issue in 2014 (Volume 30, Issue 1) of Acta Mechanica Sinica (AMS) is now online.
Welcome to this SCI-indexed journal http://ams.cstam.org.cn for rapid publication of your exciting results.

Dear Everyone,
I am so glad coming imechanica to meet everyone of you! I am an editor from Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, our society mainly publish five mechanical journals(three Chinese and two English). I would like to share recently published English articles for whom might be interested in.
Journal Tittle: Advances in Mechanics
Article Tittle: Complex systems and emergence: How theory meets reality

Hi everyone
Does anyone know about tension stiffening of concrete. Actually I have a problem with getting these values. i have an example of it and I wanna show you to clarify. So, the given information is as follows:
E= 31027 mpa
V= 0.15
Density= 2663 kg/m3
Compressive initial stress= 13 mpa
Compressive ultimate stress= 24.1 mpa
Tensile failure stress= 2.9 mpa
Therefore, for mentioned above "tensile behavior" in terms of dis. is as following: ( concrete damage plasticity )
