Lithium-assisted plastic deformation of silicon electrodes in lithium-ion batteries: a first-principles theoretical study

Submitted by Kejie Zhao on

Silicon can host a large amount of lithium, making it a promising electrode for high-capacity lithium-ion batteries.  Recent experiments indicate that silicon experiences large plastic deformation upon Li absorption, which can significantly decrease the stresses induced by lithiation and thus mitigate fracture failure of electrodes. These issues become especially relevant in nanostructured electrodes with confined geometries.

change elemen status during a multiframe analysis in ANSYS

Submitted by behzadhemmati on

I'm working with ANSYS. For performing my analysis I use from antype,4,rest,,,continue to continue the analysis from previous load steps. During my solve I should change the contact keyopt so I go from /solu part to /prep7 part. When I come back to /solu part and set analysis as antype,4,rest,,,continue the changes that I had applied for contact elements in /prep7, ignores. How I change contact statues or element key options during a solve hat use from continue option for solving.

IJFPS is waiting for your submission.

Generation of Sound (or Ultrasound) Waves & Resonance

Submitted by Babaei on

Hi,

I have a question and would be grateful if you could drop me some lines for it:

1- Is sound (or ultrasound) is ONLY generated when a structure is vibrating at its resonance frequency?

2- If the answer to the above question is YES, is sound (or ultrasound) generated at all resonance frequencies or just some of them depending on the amplitude of the vibration.

Thank you,

Babaei
