"Composite materials for structural performance: Towards higher limits", Risø International Symposium, 5-9 September 2011

Submitted by Bent F. Sørensen on

I would like to invite you to submit papers for the 32nd Risø International Symposium on Materials Science: "Composite materials for structural performance: towards higher limits". The idea of the symposium is to explore what are the real limits of structural performance of composite structures, covering both limitations by (a) the properties of the materials and (b) limits from the design methods and criteria used in the structural design process.

Post-doctoral position at Univ. Pittsburgh: Reversibly-morphing surfaces

Submitted by velankar on

A post-doctoral position is available in the Dept. of Chemical Engineering at the
University of Pittsburgh to conduct experimental research on developing
"morphing surfaces" that change topology by developing features such
as bumps, folds, spikes, etc. The post-doctoral fellow will develop (1)
surfaces that undergo a change in topology in response to applied stimuli, (2)
methods to control the shape and location of the morphing features on the
surface, and (3) quantitative or heuristic models to guide the design of
texture-changing surfaces.

ANSA or HYPERMESH

Submitted by mikel15186 on

Hi,

can anybody give me some tips on which are the main differences  between ANSA CAE and HYPERMESH? I am currentlymodeling with HYPERMESH, but as far as I have heard very good comments from ANSA I am thinking about the change.

I will appreciate your comments.

Regards,

Mikel
