Hi, i need help modeling sandwich structure in ANSYS 12.1, i have found some materials online on how to do it? I have tried the basic steps. got some results, but now how do i validate that. I have experimental data for three point bending. But i want to make sure that what i am doing in ANSYS APDL is darn right.
inputs are,
3 layers 45/0/45
thickness 0.1/0.365748/0.1 (inch)
material i am using right now are carbon fiber and foam DH100
properties of each layer have been assumed to be isotropic
carbon fiber weave

Hi, everyone ,,,I am a new user using ansys, i am working with pipe model. I build my pipe with solid 42 and solid 45 and meshing it. However,after running it, I cant see the result summary at POST1 even in the output window the result showed. Any one have a problem like this? if yes..how to solve it ,,,thanks

at the upcoming 11th U.S. National Congress on Computational Mechanics (USNCCM-11, http://www.usnccm.org/) to be held on July 25-29, 2011 in Minneapolis, MN.
We have several open postdoc positions, to be filled immediately.
The first project is focused on thermal management. The project involves the computational and theoretical analysis of graphene/graphite-metal nanocomposites and experimental work carried out by other team members. We are looking for a strong person with background in thermal and mechanical properties of materials, preferrably with background in molecular simulation.
Hi my friends,
i am using Abaqus 6.6, i want to apply a load on rock sample, this load increases with increasing time, for example, the first minute the magnitude of load is 100 Psi, and the second minute 200 psi, and the third minute 300 psi, and so on.
how can i do this?
