Hi
I am pursuing Master of Technilogy at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (India) in mechanical department. Currently, I am working at dynamic buckling of thin walled circular cylindrical shell under uniform radial pressure. I want to go for PhD, if anywhere , anyone working at plate and shell theory and nonlinear dynamics and vibration and solid mechanics. Then please let me know. I will be thanksfull to you.

Hi forum members i want to model any composite materials in ansys software. For modeling a composite material in ansys what are the elements i should choose and the material properties i should give for the composite. Please help me. Thanks.
hi my friends,
could you please tell me step by step how can i :-
1- define rigid body
2- make contact between rigid and deformable body
thanks alot
best regards,

Dear All,
I am working on shot peening using FEA. How to use matlab program in order to automatically mesh the sphere in Ansys?
Dear all
I have a plate model in ANSYS.
How can I apply a certain rotation on a line or on a surface in ANSYS ?
(i.e. ROTZ=1.0)

I am working on my M.s.a thesis about Numerical simulation of fatigue strenght of resistance spot welding joints of coated thin.At first I need to model a steel palte with three different coating on it and apply a thermal analysis to achive to residual stress distribution.I couldent find any journal or paper in this field and dont know from where i should exactly start my simulation in ANSYS.can you help me?
Thanks

Hello all
I am trying to model a composite material with different tension and compression modulus (elastic analysis). Does anyone know how to do it ??
Thanks for help.
Hello,
I have a multiple part question:
Backgroud to Q#1& Q#2 My interest is in the full stress distribution through the cross section of a helical coil compression spring, including the effects of curvature that are often cited by Wahl, but reported only for maximum stress at the surface. The coil is simple - constant wire diameter, coil diameter, and pitch. I have been unable to come across the solution for the full stress distribution (analytical), although there are endless references to Wahl's correction factor for the maximum stress.
