Civil Engineering Conference in the Asian Region and Australasian Structural Engineering Conference 2010

The 5th International Civil Engineering Conference (CECAR5) hosted by Engineers Australia, together with the Australasian Structural Engineering Conference (ASEC 2010) will bring together a broad cross-section of the civil and structural engineering professions who want to learn, network and advance their technical skills.

modelling of composite sheet in ansys and how to apply tsai wu failure criteria.,.

Submitted by mechevikas on

hello.
any idea how to design fiber glass reinforced plastic(composite sheet) in ansys and how to apply tsai wu failure criteria.,.,plz tell me i am not able to that.,.,or it is easy to make in abaqus...is any option we get in ansys about composites or failure criteria...please give some comments if u know some thing.

Two-point Tensors

Submitted by Mubeen on

I am confused about the use of two-point tensors in elasticity. The deformation tensor F and first PK tensor are two point tensors, and the "two-point" property arises from use of two different Coordinate System When a continuum body is deformed, why it is necessary to move the Coordinate System as well? (or alternatively, why the coordinate system is attached to the body itself??, isn't it possible to use a general coordinate system which can represent the deformations and also account for the rigid body rotations of the continuum body?).

A Treatise On Mathematical Theory Of Elasticity

An old book of elasticity with excellent and precise theoretical explanations. It is still valuable and inspiring book in elasticity up to now.

how to define the STEPs for earthquake analysis at ABAQUS software

Submitted by mahdisadeghi84 on

Dear all

I want to know how to define step module for the earthquake analysis specially adjusting a parameter for Dynamic Explicit…like  “TIME PERIOD” and the other parameter.

By the way at dynamic explicit analysis when I insert the duration of the earthquake as a time period(for example 30sec) I get a better result than 0.5 or 0.1…

Am I right?

and Would I want you to send me an earthquake input file…

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards for all,

Mahdi Sadeghi
