A Ph.D. Research Assistantship position in multi-scale computational mechanics of fracture of composites (with application on concrete) will be available to start in January 2010 in the Department of Civil Engineering, at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Colorado, USA.
A question has arised when I read a book about fracture mechanics recently.
This question is about the calculation of potential energy in "fixed-grips" (prescribed displacement) and "dead-load" (prescribed displacement).
The June journal club entry was written jointly with Stavros Thomopoulos from the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine.
Hi all,
I am looking for any literature on the solution the analysis of composite plates with multiple holes in them. I have been able to find plenty of information about single holes in composite plates but none on multiple hole interaction, hence this call for help.
Thank you in advance,
Fernando

Dear Mechanical Engineers,
It's my pleasure to be one of your group. I have a question in Abaqus Explicit and all my friends recommended me to as iMechanica as the explicit Abaqus is more popular to you than us as civil engineers.
Please find a phd position at Ecole des Mines de Douai related to the fatigue of composite materials.
