I finally got around to read Does IT Matter, the 2004 book by Nicholas Carr. He used the phrase IT (Information Technology) in "its commonly understood sense today, as denoting all the technology, both hardware and software, used to store, process, and transport information in digital form." He explained, "The meaning of "IT" does not encompass the information that flows through the technology or the talent of the people using the technology."

I tried but could not find any sample postdoc research proposal on internet.

Subject to a voltage, a dielectric elastomer can deform substantially, making it a desirable material for actuators. Designing such an actuator, however, has been challenging due to nonlinear equations of state, as well as multiple modes of failure, parameters of design, and measures of performance. Hi all
I am in the process of developing my first user element in Abaqus, and finding it rather difficult.
The
application requires modelling muscle behaviour. Hence a spring model
(linear at this stage) with 3 elements: 2 in series with each other,
and these 2, parallel to the third was implemented.
My problem involves static condensation of the stiffness matrix. (similar to mixed-methods)
Any advice/assistance would be great. Especially with regard to development of the user element in Abaqus.
