Opening for PhD student at Lille 1 university North France
The work involves working independently and collaboratively on "Investigating the fatigue life of different grades of polyethylene". The Phd student will be conducting heavy experimental work to fully characterize the fatigue property of Polyethylene. The modeling part is the second part of this work; which involves developing criterion and cumulative damage laws to predict the fatigue life of polyethylene under multiaxial loadings.

While formulating the constitutive equation of a material a strain energy function is required to be adopted. What should be the basis for adopting a specific form of starain energy function? Related references would also be helpful.
