We have PhD dissertation openings in areas related to structural and computational solid mechanics. The successful candidate will join a vibrant group of graduate students and post-docs working in a variety of projects in Computational Physics and Structural SL. A Bachelor's or equivalent degree in engineering or science in a related discipline is required. MSc and publications in international journals is highly desirable. Other requirements are TOEFL and GRE.
Hi all,
I have a doubt as follows.
"Why stress based Finite Element Analysis / Method is not popular compared to displacement based FE?"
I request you those who has some idea about this to comment.

Dear friends .
This is the first time i am using abaqus for analysis. I am doing a moving load analysis of a bridge .I have planned to apply a distributed load and vary the profile using DLOAD . Do you think its a good idea ?. Can anybody send me an example file of DLOAD.
Thanks and Regards

I am looking for a post-doc position in the field of computational mechanics, composite materials or multiscale method. I have plenty of experience in geometry modeling, mesh generating, programming and software designing. I expect to receive my doctorate by May 2010.
