how can i model a Composite of 3 layup? ABAQUS

Submitted by booklee on

hi``eveybody.

I am new to ABAQUS,have a model to simulation.

it has 3 plies that are combined with glue.

the core ist polymer and the upper, lower ply is the same steel.

the 3 plies have eigenvalue of thichness

should i build 3 parts,or only 1 part in the parts model?

when i cannot ignore the glue, thus what should i do?

should i use Create Composite layup in the Property model or create a solid Composite

 thanks.

Analysis of Torsion-Bending of Laminated Composite Beam by FEM using ANSYS

Submitted by Ryan Mendez Cabrera on

 Hi everyone!

i'm a researcher at the Deparment of Mechanical Engineering of University of the Philippines-Diliman. currently, i'm working on completing my thesis for my MS degree. my research area in general is in mechanics of composite materials (fiber-reinforced). my problem is that of formulating the FEM solution to the torsion-bending of laminated composite beam having orthotropic layers.

How can I find the exess pore water pressure in my dynamic soil model

Submitted by alishafi on

Dear friends

I've prepared a dynamic model of saturated loose sandy soil with abaqus software. Unfortunately, after  running the model, the pore water pressure is didn't raise up. I don't know if any kind of subroutines I must use or anything else. I'm in the final step of  my thesis analysisand I really need your helps.

Sincerely yours

Deformation gradients and atomistic simulations

Submitted by Biswajit Banerjee on

I came upon a recent paper called "Deformation gradients for continuum mechanical analysis of atomistic simulations" by Jonathan A. Zimmerman , Douglas J. Bammann,  and Huajian Gao, International Journal of Solids and Structures 46 (2009) 238–253 where the authors conclude with
