Cell mechanics-----Soft Tissue (MICROSCOPIC BIOMECHANICS )

Submitted by Lianhua Ma on

The cells of our bodies represent a very large class of systems whose structural components often are both comlex and soft. Most cells have a complex internal structure of biological rods, ropes and sheets.

cell mechanics is vital to tissue formation!

I need some introductory materials to be familiar with cell mechanics and soft tissues in biomechanics. I will appreciate your help and guidance!

continuity e.q.,equilibrium e.q. ,N-S , constitutive e.q. for elastic solid and compressible fluid in the space-frequency domain, as shown in the following Fig.

i don't understand how can this author deduce? why v=iwu? is this assumption?  why is this necessary?    thanks for your help and guidance!

Covariance in Linearized Elasticity

Submitted by arash_yavari on

In this paper we covariantly obtain the governing equations of linearized elasticity. Our motivation is to see if one can make a connection between (global) balance of energy in nonlinear elasticity and its counterpart in linear elasticity. We start by proving a Green-Naghdi-Rivilin theorem for linearized elasticity. We do this by first linearizing energy balance about a given reference motion and then by postulating its invariance under isometries of the Euclidean ambient space.

AFM modelling

Submitted by ravi5kumar on

Hi, every body...

Can anyone please tell me about the kind of modelling that is done to study the Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) ?

I have gone through the lumped mass models, but I want to know about the distributed models ?

Is anyone having some papers or links related to distributed modelling of AFM ?

Thank You......

Research experience from a physicist

Submitted by Joseph X. Zhou on

Just back from Prof. Mahir Hussein's seminar. He is really one of best physicist I  have ever met. In past 30 years, he published more than 200 papers in the field of nuclear resonance, laser accelerated particles etc. There are more than 30 papers published in PRL alone. When input his name " M.Hussein" in arXiv.org, you can easily found 95 papers by him.

Centrifuge Reliability Problems is solve

Submitted by vinshe82 on

Centrifuge is a machine that spins
at a high rate of speed to separate solids from a liquid. The big problem with
the Centrifuge equipment is its reliability. Conventional centrifuge designs are
often break down in brusque industrial environments and which can affect the
whole assembly line operations. So many industries try to avoid the use of
centrifuge equipment. This problem of origin is lies on the relationship
