We are looking for a candidate with a Ph.D. degree to study fracture problems in bimetallic pipelines, API X65 internally clad with alloy 625. The project has direct application to offshore exploration in Brazil deepwater fields. The project is going to be funded by the Petrobras company. The chosen candidate will develop a parametric model to model the welded joint of this type of pipes using python/Abaqus, being the numerical model as close as possible to the real geometry.
Only for citizens of the following countries: US, Canada, European Union, Switzerland, Norway and Russia.

Let me know if you are interested before 20th March 2019, I could act as a host.
The Nanomechanics Simulations Laboratory at the Technion (Haifa, Israel) is seeking applicants for a computational study on nucleation-controlled plasticity. Immediate openings are available for Ph.D. students in several projects. In these projects, you will develop models for the strength of specimens at the nanoscale, to account for the effect of temperature and lattice defects on the nucleation-controlled strength.

Synopsys will be the 2019 BMES/FDA Frontiers in Medical Devices event to talk about how Simpleware software is used for medical device design and biomedical engineering. We will also be providing a technology showcase seminar to demonstrate how to go from 3D image data to models for different applications.
Applications are invited for PhD positions at the Algorithms in Medicine and Neuro-Technology Lab (AIMAN Lab) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at George Mason University, Fairfax, VA. "Research" The AIMAN Lab pursues fundamental breakthroughs in biomedical cyber-physical systems.
A PostDoc/Research Assistant Professor Position is available immediately on DFT/Phase Field Modeling at the Colorado School of Mines. The applicants should have a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or in a relevant field, with a strong background in DFT calculations and phase-field modeling. The project involves simulating structures/phases, kinetics and nano/microstructural evolution in advanced manufacturing.
