A Doctorate student position is available for Summer/Fall 2018 in Mechanical Engineering. The applicant must have a master in Mechanical or Material Engineering or equivalent field. It is highly preferred that the applicants are specialized in solid mechanics. Knowledge in Surface Mechanics, Tribology and Additive Manufacturing is a plus.  The position is directed by Multiscale Contact Mechanics and Tribology Laboratory at George Mason University, Fairfax, VA, USA. The organization of the Solvay Workshop: "Mechanics of Slender Strucures in Physics, Biology and Engineering: From failure to functionality" (27-29 August, 2018, ULB, Brussels, Belgium), is going well and we are excited by the substantial number of good quality submissions that we have received.
