Dear All,
I would like to invite fellow bloggers in Singapore to a Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) Engineering Product Development (EPD) Lecture Series talk titled:
Hybrid Films to Human Skin: The Relationship between Structure, Processing and Function
presented by Professor Reinhold H. Dauskardt (Stanford University), on Tue, 12 July 2016, 3:00pm – 4:00pm Singapore Time, SUTD Lecture Theatre 1 (1.102).
For more information, please refer to the attached flyer.
1. There are several experimental microscopy techniques for the calculation of dislocation density; but are there any reliable numerical ones, as well ? like those, which least include experimental parameters, except for some initial ones, like the initial density of dislocation, such as Reid's formula [1].
2. as a result of dislocation accumulation after deformation, slip bands form. are there any numerical techniques for slip band density estimation?

I am Fan Xie, a PhD in solid mechanics, Beihang University.
I am looking for a postdoctoral position in computational mechanics (MDs, FEM etc.) now. I have published 9 journal papers and 2 conference papers. I deeply understand the modeling of nano materials and nanocomposites (fiber reinforced, IPCs or bicontinuous composites) based on either Molecular Dynamics simulation (MDs) or FEM. And I am a hard working person as a Chinese student who is crazy about science.
Despite the controversial debates concerning a unified theory, the continuum plasticity has evolved during the last few decades and an uncountable number of articles has been published on the subject. The proposal of Lee to decompose the deformation gradient, F, into elastic part Fe and plastic part Fp (i.e. F=FeFp) combined with the principle of maximum plastic dissipation is used in many publications to formulate the ensuing developments.

Dear Professor,
Having achieved many goals in my career of aircraft design and its material mechanics, I am interested in expanding my professional horizons by seeking new challenges in the area of mechanics of composite materials. I am interested in a postdoctoral position and have enclosed my Curriculum Vitae and a brief description of my research accomplishment for your review and consideration.
