Installtion prosedure for franc3d

Submitted by ramana.p755 on

hi gentel man ,

This is ramana , working as FEA analyst in clyde pumps .

I recently downloaded Franc3D software from web. I could able to create and import model to osm and take to franc3d .

I am unable to rub run BES and Run anays. While I am trying to run BES the following error is coming

Failed trying to execute BES file from Franc3D.

Concrete Smeared Cracking model in Abaqus

Submitted by mahmood seraji on
Hi
I order to model the cement board material, i am going to use "Concrete Smeared Cracking" model available in Abaqus. I think I have to adjust some variables affecting the properties of the concrete to get the numerical load-deformation response close to that of the cement board.
I will be thankful if anyone help me.

Double effective stress of porous media (by Li chuanliang)

Submitted by S.H. Zhu on

At present, the concept of effective stress has undergone three periods:

1. Terzaghi's effective stress

            σeff= σ-p

 2. Biot’s effective stress

              σeff= σ-αp

 3. Double effective stress

Discrepancy of numerical results from analytical solution for an nonlinear viscoelasticity model

Submitted by aquis_mech on

  I have written a Fortran code for nonlinear viscoelasticity according to the Hughes' recurrence algorithm based on a total Lagrangian formulation.  And a relaxation test is made. There is some deviation from the analytical solution(Theoretically the stress response should be an exponential decay plus a constant, isn't it?). The numerical ultimate stress is larger than the analytical one. As a larger initial strain is applied, the deviation is smaller. For a inital strain of 10%, there is almost no difference between the num. and analy. solution. What can account for this?

S-N curve

Submitted by basak.pradip on

I am working on plastic behaviour of metal. I am using Abaqus 6.7 for simulation of uniaxial ratcheting of steel under cyclic loading. Modelling and job submission/completion has been done successfully. But I cann't understand  where  the data for Stresses(S) &  number of cycle(N) is strored to draw S-N curve. Please suggest.
