NANOSHEL

Submitted by Nanoshel on

NANOSHEL makes more than 50 types of products, among which the main products are nanotubes, SWCNT´s, MWCNT´s, nanoparticles,. These products are widely used in the fields such as textile industry, ceramics, chemical fiber, plastics, coatings, cosmetics, rubber, electrical and electronic equipments, electric power generation and boiler and so on.

ES 240 Project: Volvox Inversion Mechanics

Submitted by bjordan555 on

The biology of the inversion process in Volvox carteri is examined, and a coupled mechanical and kinetic model is proposed.  See attached proposal for details. The presentation given is also attached here, as well as the final paper.  Also, a movie of the simulation that made all of the work wroth while, the inversion of a half-sphere, is attached here as well.  Note: The file inversion2bw.doc is a movie, just download it and change the extension to .avi.  This has to be done since iMechanica doesn't allow attachment of .avi files directly.

Problem with nominal vs true values

Submitted by Andreas Burger on

Hi,

I have cyclic uniaxial compression data of a PU.  When I look at nominal stress vs nominal strain then the relation is clearly nonlinear (increasing stiffnes with increasing  strain).  When I convert to true stress vs true strain I still have a nonlinear relation, however, not as strong and the stiffness decreases with increasing strain.

When I look at true stress vs stretch, however, the relation seems to be almost (I'm only talking about the first loading cycle) linear. Nominal stress vs stretch is still nonlinear.

frequency response function

Submitted by jezenarro on

Hello!!I am a new user of ABAQUS. I have a question about obtaining of the frequency response function in ABAQUS. In the first step I calculate the natural frequency using the step linear perturbation(procedure type)/frequency.I think that obtaining the frecuency response function, I need to use in the second step the steady-state dinamic, modal.I don`t get to plot the amplitude of modal-frequency graphs.I would apreciate much if someone could help me about this question.
