In December 2006 the ASME Applied Mechanics Division (AMD) Executive Committee approved a new technical committee, Committee on Fluid-Structure Interaction (CFSI). The CFSI is sponsoring 6 mini-symposia within Track 12 "Mechanics of Solids, Structures and Fluids" of the ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress, in Boston, October 31 - November 6, 2008. These 6 mini-symposia will have a total of 17 sessions and are titled:
We have studied experimentally and theoretically the response of randomly folded hyperelastic and elastoplastic sheets on the uniaxial compression loading and the statistical properties of crumpling networks. The results of these studies reveal that the mechanical behavior of randomly folded sheets in the one-dimensional stress state is governed by the shape dependence of the crumpling network entropy.
The deadline for early-bird registration, with a $50 saving, is 28 August 2008. Please consider to register for the Applied Mechanics Division Honors & Awards Banquet to meet your friends, and to congratulate the winners.
Hi
All I am trying to model reinforced concrete column.I am using concrete damaged placity model.I used truss element for main reinforcement and ties .All main reinforcement and ties are embeded in concrete column.I need the following answer.
1-How ties confine the concrete column.
2-How can I apply the cyclic loading.
Please could you provide me any help in this regard.
