viscoelasticity

Submitted by yoshiaki yamada on

When I contributed a review article "Time Dependent Materials" to Shock and Vibration Computer Programs, Review and Summaries, Ed. W and B Pilkey, SAVIAC, 1995, I found that ABACUS included well organized capabilities for viscoelasticity with a well prepared manual and believe that ABACUS still being remained as a most capable software for the subject by the finite element method.

Abaqus/CAE version 6.6

Submitted by Pascal Yee on

 Dear all,

For my final year project, I've done the 3D model of a test fixture which is used for the compression testing of a specimen.

When I apply a downward vertical displacement to top Slider B, eventually the 2-slider linkage mechanism will cause the bottom Slider A to move horizontally and to compress the cube shaped specimen.

hi,

i just want to know either abaqus/cae can modul the reinfocement..or we need to add the text of reiforcement on the input file from CAE pre-processing.

Parallel Computing in the Multi-Body System to Vehicle Dynamics?

Submitted by Xianfeng Ye on

Has someone worked on the parallel computing in the multibody system to the vehicle dynamics? It's what I am doing now. I am faced to make a choice, OpenMP or MPI? OpenMP is a little  easy to program, but with less portability. I prefer MPI and I think if it is a best choice to parallelize the constraint libraries, although it is a bit difficult to program. Am I right? Is anyone  also doing it now? Opinions and suggestions are welcome!

Viscoelasticity and phase transition:)

Submitted by leonuniv on

Hi, does anyone know publications incorporating both linear viscoelasticity and phase transition? For example, both phase can be transferred to each other and each phase has its own relaxation function G(t). For arbitrary loading and temperature histories, at some special time the material experiences the phase transition. Thanks a lot:)
