I am happy to find this place for mechanicians. I hope I can make some friends and learn something here.
I am a PhD candidate in Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and I will get my degree in a few months. Is there anyone from BUAA in this place?
Hi all,
I want to generate moving cyclic load to analyse bridge. I have written dload subroutine. But when I am trying to submit the job, its only showing that "JOB has been submitted for analysis". But its not doing anything. Please help on this issue.
Thanks,

Hi
I am looking for a postdoctoral research position in experimental mechanics in US. I'll be graduating in January 2008 with a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Drexel University, Philadelphia.
Dear Alls;
Would you please explain for me why Dynamic J-integral increases when crack propagates, and why Dynamic J-integral are independent with difference paths.
Best Regards;
Chau
Attached slides were presented at the 2007 ASME Congress at Seattle.
I came across some content I used to have on my webpage a long time ago.
I attach slides for an ASME talk, which is based on a recent paper.
I attach the slides of a presentation at the ASME meeting. The talk was based on several recent papers on soft active materials (SAMs). To give an uncluttered picture of the pull-in instability, I have removed all discussion on the Maxwell stress. As you can see, the problem can be studied without ever mentioning this troublesome notion.
I noticed that the Rodney Hill Prize in Solid Mechanics has been founded and would like to have his personal records in detail, hopefully with his portrait(photo).
