PhD positions with financial support in the form of research assistant/teaching assistant are available in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Connecticut (UConn).
We present a novel image-based multiscale multigrid solver that can efficiently address the computational complexity associated with highly heterogeneous systems. This solver is developed based on an image-based, multiresolution model that enables reliable data flow between corresponding computational grids and provides large data compression. A set of inter-grid operators is constructed based on the microstructural data which remedies the issue of missing coarse grid information.
Two Ph.D positions in the area of Mechanics of Materials are immediately available in Professor Yan Li’s research group at Dartmouth College. Projects concern computational modeling of functional composites, failure analysis and big data/machine learning-based material design. Candidates with B.S and/or M.S degree in Solid Mechanics or related areas are encouraged to apply.
A postdoc position in the area of Mechanics of Materials is immediately available in Professor Yan Li’s research group at Dartmouth College. The research topics include but not limited to multiscale modeling, in-situ Digital Image Correlation analysis and big data/machine learning-based material property prediction.
