On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee and the International Scientific Committee, we would like to invite you to organize mini-symposia for the upcoming ASCE joint EMI-PMC 2020 conference at Columbia University in the City of New York, May 26-29, 2020.
At its April 12 meeting the Executive Committee of the ASCE Board of Direction approved Professor Subra Suresh, President of Carnegie Mellon University, as the winner of the Zdeněk P. Bažant Medal for Failure and Damage Prevention Medal “for his pioneering work on failure and damage prevention of metallic and composite materials under cyclic and other loadings.”
ASCE announced the winners of six of its prestigious Society awards administered by its Engineering Mechanics Institute (EMI):

2016 Jack E. Cermak Medal: Qiusheng Li, Ph.D., City University of Hong Kong
2016 Alfred M. Freudenthal Medal: Bruce R. Ellingwood, Ph.D., P.E., F.SEI, Dist.M.ASCE, NAE, Georgia Institute of Technology
